Technical Information

We do not publish pole weights because they are largely unnecessary.

Balance, how the user holds the pole and the length the pole is being fished at are some of the main factors in how. apole feels in the hand. Actual deadweight is only felt when the pole is packed away and in your holdall, so we think it's data that doesn't have a realworld use to anglers.

We are building a database of technical documents such as spec sheets and user instructions over on our ISSUU page, where PDFs can be downloaded.

If you have a specific question that can't be answered by one of these documents, please contact info@mapfishing.co.uk or contact us via our facebook or Instagram pages

Feeder and bomb rods are designed to cast great weights than float rods so have casting weights as a general guide to how much the rod blank can take.

Casting weights are a general guide; try not to overload a rod because not only with it underperform, but you risk damaging the rod, which will not be covered under the terms of the product warranty.

Pole Sections

We have an extensive collection of spare sections for our poles.

Selected prodcts can be ordered direct from this website or the entire collection can be ordered through an official MAP retailer

All our 1/G/2G/3G ranges use the same mandrels* so are interchangebale with the poles manufactured on the same mandrel.

We do recomend like-for-like when ordering sections because each section is optimised to ensure the pole performs to the highest standsards, but in the event of a different pole section being used from the compatible mandrel, the pole will still function.

(*The only exception is the original 601 1G model, which was manufactured on a seperate mandrel. TKS top kits fit this pole)

The 13m, 14.5m and 16m sections on all our poles are parallel.

One benefit of this is if you want to take the pole to longer lengths, then additional butt sections can be ordered and fitted.

We do not produce a universal butt section.
